Message d'alerte sur Rufus

Salut à tous,

Je souhaite installer Ubuntu sur une partition de mon Laptop. J'en suis à créer ma clé USB avec Rufus mais ce dernier, au moment de démarrer, m'a affiché un message:

Bonjour,
Quel est le nom de l'ISO de Ubuntu que tu veux mettre sur la LiveUSB ?
C'est quoi le nom complet du modèle de ton Laptop ?

Explications : si ton ordi permet l'installation de Ubuntu 16.04.1 64 bits, je te proposerai d'utiliser UNetbootin au lieu de Rufus suivant ma recette. Par contre, si ton ordi est très très récent, je ne suis pas sûr que UNetbootin soit fiable (c'est peut-être le cas mais je n'ai pas expérimenté) et dans ce cas, je laisse les experts répondre.


EDIT : essaie cette astuce que j'ai lue quelque part sur la toile(*) : pour lancer Rufus, fais un clic droit sur le fichier exécutable de Rufus (rufus-2.XX.exe) et sélectionne "exécuter en tant qu'administrateur". Si ça marche comme ça (et que tu n'as plus le message dont tu as collé l'image dans le post #1), ne te fais pas de nœuds au cerveau et fais ton test de Ubuntu puis ton install avec cette LiveUSB réalisée avec Rufus.

Je le colle là : "I had the same issue until I ran Rufus with administrator rights." (j'ai eu le même problème jusqu'à ce que je lance Rufus avec droits d'administrateur)

J'ai fait le test "en tant qu'admin" mais le message apparait quand même.

Le nom exact de ton modèle d'ordi est "GE72 2QC-291XFR" et il existe une ligne pour ce modèle dans la Liste des portables « MSI » donc un blaireau a pu installer la version cucu de 16.04 dans ce modèle. La version 16.04.3 que tu utilisée pour tenter de réaliser ta LiveUSB est à mon avis la "bonne" version pour ce modèle (la version "de base" 16.04.1 que j'ai évoquée dans le post #2) ne doit pas convenir. Donc ton ISO est parfait. Si personne ne sait t'aider pour Rufus, utilise un autre logiciel de création de LiveUSB (Unetbootin me parait le meilleur mais il y en a d'autres)

Salut,
La création de la clé a fini par fonctionner; je l'ai effectué via Unetbootin comme tu me l'as suggéré.
Du coup je suis allé dans le bios, je l'ai paramétré pour qu'il boot sur la clé USB puis redémarrage. Je suis arrivé dans un menu où j'avais 10 secondes pour choisir quoi faire ; j'ai remarqué qu'il y avait 2 choix "Install Ubuntu" entre plein d'autres, alors j'ai cliqué sur le premier; choix de la langue; puis démarrage et là j'ai réalisé qu'il ne m'avait pas demandé sur quelle partition je voulais l'installer et, ayant peur qu'il écrase Windows (qui a dit "Dommage"?) en faisant l'installation sur C:, j'ai interrompu l'installation. Ai-je eu raison ou tort? Pourquoi y a-t-il plusieurs options "Install Ubuntu" dans le menu? Voilà où j'en suis...

Bonjour,
Pour qu'on ait un état des lieux avant travaux, je te prie de démarrer ton ordi sur la LiveUSB et de sélectionner "Essayer Ubuntu". Arrivé sur le bureau de la session live, fais un Boot-Info et donne l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

Et c'est le mode de démarrage qui convient pour faire l'installation de Ubuntu.
Comme tu as actuellement 4 partitions primaires, tu es au max possible (voir 2.1 La table des partitions). Il va donc falloir que tu supprimes la partition sda4 (la partition NTFS qui se trouve à la fin du disque dur) afin de libérer de la place pour l'installation de Ubuntu. Moi je te conseille de procéder depuis Windows pour faire ça, avec la Gestion des disques de Windows : il faut donc supprimer la partition qui se trouve en fin de disque. Cela va laisser un trou d'environ 200 Go. A mon avis, c'est beaucoup trop pour Ubuntu si tu décides d'utiliser la 3ème partition (500 Go environ) pour le stockage commun des données Windows / Ubuntu. Dans ce cas, je te conseillerais d'augmenter la taille de la 3ème partition afin de laisser seulement 30 Go non-alloués en fin de disque dur (destinés à Ubuntu). Mais si ton tiens absolument à cloisonner entre Windows et Ubuntu - je trouve ça crétin mais il y en a qui aiment bétonner - avec un stockage des données Ubuntu bien distinct du stockage des données Windows, il n'y a peut-être pas lieu de retoucher à la taille de la 3ème partition et tu peux laisser le trou de 200 Go afin d'installer Ubuntu là-dedans.

Hmm...
Je ne comprends pas bien comment le Boot-info peut afficher 4 partitions alors que je n'en ai que 3:

Mais bon, peut-être que j'avais laissé branché mon disque externe de sauvegarde.
De toute façon, ça ne change pas grand-chose au fait que je compte installer Ubuntu sur E:, par contre ce qui me turlupine autant qu'au départ, c'est le fait que lors de l'installation, aucune référence n'ait été faite concernant le choix de la partition (histoire de ne pas écraser C: ou D:). Et sinon, je ne compte pas cloisonner, je vais ranger toutes les données dans D:.

L'image de ton post #9, c'est ce que montre l'explorateur de Windows. Ce dernier ne montre pas toutes les partitions. Il ne montre jamais la partition "Réservée au système" donc il ne montre pas la partition sda1 qui se trouve tout au début de ton disque dur. Il va falloir que tu supprimes le disque E: et que tu augmentes la taille du disque D: comme je t'ai expliqué dans le post #8 pour laisser 30 Go non-alloués en fin de disque dur. Cela se fait avec la "Gestion des disques" de Windows.

Quelques questions:
- la première est triviale: pourquoi, à chaque fois que je reviens à W7 depuis Ubuntu, mon horloge est en retard de 2 heures?
- est-ce un problème si j'alloue 200go à Ubuntu? j'ai plusieurs motivations à ça:
1) je vais peut-être installer des tas d'applis, j'ai ouï dire qu'on pouvait faire marcher Morrowind sur linux, bref je pourrais avoir besoin de place
2) si jamais je décide d'installer d'autres versions de linux, elles auront peut-être besoin de plus de 30go
3) il y a quelques mois, j'ai demandé conseil à un pote technicien qui m'a dit que changer plusieurs fois la taille des partitions d'un HDD pouvait provoquer des bugs
4) et puis 500go pour mes données, pour l'heure ça me suffit.

C'est un problème de cohabitation entre Windows et Ubuntu, chacun voulant gérer l'horloge mais ils ne sont pas d'accord sur l'heure à mettre dans le Bios de l'ordi. Pour résoudre le problème, il faut agir soit sur Windows seulement, soit sur Ubuntu seulement comme je vais expliquer.

Non. Moi je t'ai conseillé ce que je ferais à ta place mais c'est ton ordi et tu l'aménages comme tu veux.
