[Résolu] dual boot qui ne fonctionne pas, mode recovery obligatoire
Bonsoir
n'ayant pour le moment pas trouvé de réponses satisfaisantes à mon problème, je me permet de vous le soumettre
Je viens de récupérer un nouvel ordinateur portable pour le travail, sous windows 10 et dont je ne suis pas administrateur. HP Zbook, une bête de course.
Ayant besoin de logiciels sous linux (AutoMultipleChoice pour ne pas le citer, entre autre), j'ai benoitement pensé booter sur mon disque externe (comme je le faisais auparavant à mon ancien travail, avec un pc W7). Que Nenni
Le PC dispose de deux disques dur, un SSD comportant quatre partitions dont une seule est "utile" comportant W10, et un disque classique d'un To avec au départ rien dessus.
Après maint difficultés et risques (il est impensable de scratcher windows), j'ai réussi à le faire booter sur une clé usb,à repartitionner la partition du disque classique pour dégager un swap et une partition EXT4 pour linux, puis à installer la 16.04.2
Jusque là, tout va bien.
au reboot, grub apparait, si je choisis ubuntu..... Ecran noir
Si je choisis les options avancées et lance ubuntu (le noyau le plus récent= j'ai une liste de message d'erreurs
le premier
[0.000000] efi: requested map not found
puis
[0.000000] esrt:ESRT header is not in the memory map
puis plein d'autres (photo de l'écran à suivre quand j'aurais réussi à les transférer sur l'ordi
si je choisis "recovery mode" j'obtiens un menu,
je demande de continuer normalement
il revient au menu

c'est pas inutilisable, c'est pas pratique.
Si quelqu'un a une piste à me proposer (je suppose que l'EFI n'y est pas pour rien mais je ne sais pas comment débugger sachant qu'essaie de toucher le moins possible au disque n°1 comportant W10

Le plus simple serait que tu fasses d'abord un boot-info afin de mieux visualiser cette installation.

N'oubliez pas de régler votre BIOS pour qu'il amorce sur le disque sda (1000GB) !
Les fichiers de démarrage de [L'OS actuellement utilisé - Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS] sont loin du début du disque. Votre BIOS pourrait ne pas les détecter. Vous voudrez peut-être re-essayer après avoir créé une partition /boot (EXT4, >200MB, en début de disque). Cela peut être réalisé via des outils tels que gParted. Si votre ordinateur redémarre directement sur Windows, essayez de changer l'ordre de démarrage dans votre BIOS.

La procédure la plus simple que je te conseille, c'est de presser la touche Echap au démarrage de l'ordi, puis sélectionner F9 et démarrer sur l'entrée désignée "ubuntu"

merci pour vos retours avisés.
pour ce qui est du démarrage, l'ordi démarre bien sur GRUB,,qui me propose ubuntu par défaut.
Si je laisse faire, après le temps de démarrage automatique, j'ai un bel écran noir, clavier inactif (ver maj ou ver num ne fait pas changer les diodes de couleur, la seule chose que je peux faire est à secondes sur "power" pour éteindre brutalement
Si je demande le boot par défaut, idem
Si je demande le boot sur windaube, windaube démarre (mais ça je m'en fous un peu, enfin pas vraiment, pour certains softs du boulot pas le choix, tel CATIA ou Solidworks, et surtout pour le service info)
si je demande les options avancées pour ubuntu, (il y a deux noyaux, l'avant dernier et le dernier, je ne me souviens plus des versions) le mode normal m'envoie les erreurs citées en début de post
si je demande le recovery boot d'ubuntu, ça démarre péniblement, je choisis la première option (reprendre le démarrage normal), ça me ramène au même menu, je rechoisis cette première option (je suis têtu aussi) et là je boote ubuntu normalement. (la preuve je vous écris depuis...)
c'est pas bloquant, c'est juste lourdingue. (bon j'ai pas à jouer avec F9 c'est déjà pas mal.....)
J'ai lu quelque part que de placer la partition / en début de disque au lieu d'en fin de disque pourrait améliorer les choses, est ce réellement le cas ? (ça suppose pas mal de manipulations risquées sur les partitions sachant que je n'ai pas les droits pour remettre d'aplomb les problèmes éventuels générés sous windaube et que si je génère des problèmes et qu'il faille aller voir le service info je vais me faire appeler Léon.... ou pire)
J'aurais préféré booter mon nux sur mon disque externe mais HP ne veut pas en entendre parler.... j'ai déjà galéré un moment pour lui faire prendre une clé d'installation d'ubuntu et me suis fait quelques sueurs froides...

Quelques explications :
- ce que je te propose ne sera pas à faire à chaque démarrage. C'est du provisoire qui te permet de démarrer avec un affichage correct mais c'est provisoire. Arrivé dans ta session par ce moyen, il conviendra que tu installes le pilote propriétaire (doc). Après installation de ce pilote propriétaire, tu pourras démarrer normalement sans avoir à ajouter le paramètre nomodeset.
- pourquoi ça peut marcher quand tu passes par une entrée "recovery mode" ? Parce qu'une telle entrée utilise automatiquement le paramètre nomodeset

merci du retour, ça m'a permis de dépanner mon installation. Toutefois tout ne s'est pas passé comme indiqué, et je boote en "nomodeset"
Essais effectués :
étant démarré, j'ai suivi ton lien vers les pilotes propriétaires intel, et impossible de trouver celui pour la16.04.
Eh fouillant le net j'ai cru comprendre que le pilote était déjà fourni par défaut avec l'install de la 16.04
Je précise que je suis sur Lubuntu 16.04.2 et que l'accès aux configurations est souvent très différent de la majorité des ubuntiens qui semblent être sur unity
je suis donc allé dans le menu "préférences" pour suivre le lien "pilotes additionnels".
ayant deux cartes graphiques, j'ai deux onglets, (c'est en graphique, pas en console)

n'ayant pas vu de différences avec mes autres installations en bootant en "nomodeset" j'ai donc cherché comment installer ce paramètre par défaut au boot de linux,
j'ai édité le fichier /etc/default/grub
j'ai ajouté "nomodeset" après "quiet splash"
j'ai fait un sudo update-grub
j'ai rebooté
et là ça démarre.
ne sachant pas ce que change "nomodeset" hormis que mon PC démarre et a l'air de fonctionner normalement pour les applis que j'utilise, je pense en rester là.
Je passe en résolu (si je trouve comment faire)

Nom d'un bleu, tu as fait tout ce qu'il ne fallait pas faire. Il va falloir débobiner à présent :
1) remodifie le fichier /etc/default/grub afin de revenir à l'état précédent "quiet splash" sans nomodeset
2) redémarre en ajoutant nomodeset "à la main" comme j'ai expliqué dans ce post : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … 1#p9820021
Après ça, va dans "préférences" > "pilotes additionnels".

Je ne sais pas ce qui t'es passé par la tête mais c'est bien ce pilote qui est à installer. En effet, la ligne qui est cochée "Utilisation de serveur X X.org - pilote d'affichage Nouveau depuis xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (libre)", c'est pour le pilote libre "Nouveau" qui ne sait pas gérer ta carte NVIDIA. Il faut le pilote propriétaire. J'espère que ça va te rentrer dans le crâne.

Pour malbo, Pas la peine d'essayer de faire rentrer quoi que ce soit dans mon crâne au burin, ce qui m'es passé par la tête est que tu m'as renvoyé sur les drivers intel dans ton post plus haut, (le lien "doc") du coup j'ai joué sur le driver intel d'autant qu'ubuntu semble ne pas reconnaitre la "carte" (il l'appelle inconnu du fabricant inconnu).
Tu ne m'avais pas évoqué des pilotes autres, et par ailleurs les pilotes propriétaires ont tendance à me gratter..... et les nvidia m'ont déjà plus que cassé les pieds (planté la machine), avant que je ne sois sauvé par le pilote "nouveau" sur une autre config plus ancienne, sans "carte graphique" intel associée.
après, pour les pro du système il doit certainement y avoir une différence entre modeset et nomodeset, par contre à l'usage, pas vu de différences pour ce que j'en fait.
Etant un utilisateur parfaitement lambda, dans la mesure ou le cahier des charges est rempli (le système fonctionne correctement), le type de paramètres utilisé ne m'importe absolument pas. modeset or not modeset perso.... je ne vois pas le problème. (même fonctionnement, même résolution d'écran, même comportement,.....)
Ce que je note par contre est que la solution est à utiliser (nomodeset) lorsqu'aucun pilote graphique ne daigne fonctionner correctement, ce qui m'est déjà arrivé (en particulier avec les pilotes propriétaires nvidia),
merci en tout cas à <b> Malbo </b> pour le dépannage, je m'orientais vers un problème lié à l'EFI qui m'avais bien cassé les pieds avant d'installer et parce que le premier message d'erreur mentionnait l'EFI, je faisais donc fausse route

Dans un tel contexte, l'option la plus appropriée à mettre est certainement modprobe.blacklist=nouveau plutôt que nomodeset

@Cromagns : effectivement, dans le post #8 je n'ai pas écrit qu'il fallait installer le pilote propriétaire pour NVIDIA. Ce n'était pas forcément évident pour toi que c'était la marche à suivre. Au final, as-tu bien installé le pilote propriétaire NVIDIA et si oui est-ce que ça marche bien comme ça ?
D'autre part, je souhaiterais ajouter ton modèle d'ordi dans la liste des portables HP au paragraphe La gamme Zbook mais il faudrait que tu donnes le nom complet de ton modèle parce que dans le post #1 tu as seulement indiqué "HP Zbook".
Pour info : en fouillant sur le forum , j'ai trouvé cette discussion récente au sujet d'un modèle HP zbook G4
