[Résolu] CUDA ne fonctionne plus depuis mise à jour
Bonjour,
J'utilise CUDA dans le cadre de calculs avec la plateforme BOINC.
Certains de ces calculs sont faits en utilisant le GPU de ma GeForce 8500GT
J'ai eu une mise à jour NVIDIA aujourd'hui et depuis les calculs utilisant le GPU ne fonctionnent plus.
Quelqu'un aurait une piste ?

Je suis désolé, je n'ai pas vu ta réponse hier.
Voilà ce que j'ai noté de défférence entre les deux Log :
[ 936.820] (++) using VT number 8 pour l'ancien
[ 34.090] (++) using VT number 7pour le dernier
C'est lié à la virtualisation, je ne sais pas si cela joue pour tes calculs. Voici un lien qui en parle : askubuntu.com/questions/103965/how-to-d … 966#103966
Pour vérifier si ton bios accepte la virtualisation, installer l'outil de vérification :
sudo apt install cpu-checkerpuis saisir
sudo kvm-okTu sera informé par le retour de cette manière :
INFO: /dev/kvm does not exist
HINT: sudo modprobe kvm_intel
INFO: Your CPU supports KVM extensions
INFO: KVM (vmx) is disabled by your BIOS

Mais cela n'explique pas pourquoi en changeant de driver, tout d'un coup, le traitement de la virtualisation par ton bios a de l'importance. Cela peut être le cas, si le nouveau driver traite la charge du CPU de ta carte différemment.
D'autre part, dans ton dernier log il y a ceci :

Nettoyage fait. Les calculs du GPU plantent toujours.
Ce qui m'étonne, c'est qu'à l'installation, j'étais sur le driver v304.131 depuis nvidia-304 (propriétaire)
Désormais je suis sur la version 304.132 depuis nvidia-304 (libre)
Je n'ai pas fait le changement moi-même et je ne sais pas si c'est la mise à jour qui a permuté ça.

Je pense que c'est la mise à jour qui t'as configuré le driver libre. Voir peut-être revenir au driver précédent.
Cela n'a rien à voir avec ton problème, mais je trouve bizarre que tu n'aies pas d'écran primaire, ce qui devrait apparaître dans le retour de la commande xrandr. En théorie le DVI-I-1 connected 1920x1200+0+0 revrait être le primaire puisqu'il est positionné à +0+0.

Pour l'instant BOINC ne m'a pas accordé de calcul GPU donc c'est en attente de confirmation que ça fonctionne à nouveau.

As-tu regardé la configuration de ton fichier cc_config.xml dans le répertoire de Boinc selon les données du site Configuration file ?

Bonjour,
Deux jours après une réinstallation complète de CUDA, la plateforme BOINC vient enfin de me lancer un calcul sur GPU.
Déjà la première fois où j'ai installé CUDA ça a mis deux jours avant qu'on m'envoie un calcul GPU à faire.
Au final, je ne sais pas si c'est le fait d'être repassé à l'ancien driver ou la réinstallation de CUDA qui a reglé le problème.
D'après les différentes infos trouvées, CUDA fonctionne uniquement avec un driver propriétaire. Il semble donc probable que le problème était effectivement lié à la mise à jour automatique qui m'a passé en driver libre.
Simplement, le fait de switcher sur un driver propriétaire ne suffit visiblement pas à remettre immédiatement en route un calcul GPU sur Boinc. Il faut attendre peut-être que les administrateurs du projet boinc concerné fassent une manip avant de distribuer un nouveau calcul GPU. (?)
Je n'ai pas touché aux paramétrages/installation de l'appli BOINC manager.
Mais je vais regarder de plus près tout ça grâce au lien que tu m'as donné.
